Solution: Water-damaged iPhone X Got Unknown Error 4013

A water-damaged iPhone X got an unknown error 4013 when we restoring it, and then the iPhone X stuck in recovery mode. After tried some software solutions, the problem still the same, so, now we suspected the iPhone X has hardware problem.   Disassemble the iPhone X by phone opening tools, and then measure it with DC power supply , the iPhone X can enter the IOS system when the iPhone screen isn't connected, and the iPhone can be turned on smoothly when the front receiver flex cable isn't connected. Now, let's check the iPhone screen. Put iPhone screen under the   Stereo Zoom Microscope , we found the iPhone receiver has the trace of the water. Remove the front receiver sensor flex cable, we found the photosensitive lens also has the traces of corrosion. Use QUICK 861DW  rework station to separate the light sensor, the solder pad has been corroded. Handling the corroded solder pad, apply the tin, and use green UV oil  to cover the area...

Troubleshoot: iPhone 7 Plus doesn't boot(short-circuit)

The iPhone 7 Plus doesn't boot because of short-circuit, what's going on? How to fix this trouble? Here is the troubleshooting guide! Trouble phenomenon We press the iPhone power button as usual to turn it on, but the iPhone has no response, the iPhone screen always keeps black. First we through it's the problem of the iPhone screen, so we try to use another cell phone to call this iPhone, but we found this iPhone 7 Plus doesn't boot. Troubleshoot Use phone opening tools to disassemble the iPhone 7 Plus, after open the iPhone display assembly, measure the iPhone 7P with DC power supply ,  there is no current, which means there is no leakage phenomenon. Trigger it, and it shows large current, the current ups to 1.9A. Take out the iPhone motherboard, use rosin method, so we can find out the problem easily. We can check it under the microscope. Is it the iPhone main power problem? Check iPhone bitmap via WUXINJI Dongle, and then we found that the iPhone Nand ...

Solution: Liquid-damaged iPhone 6S leakage and doesn’t boot

Here is an iPhone 6S that was damaged by water, now the iPhone 6S doesn't boot,  it leaks 120mA after connecting to the DC power supply ,  when trigger it, the current is stuck in 360mA. Here is a solution to fix it.  Take out the iPhone motherboard,  put it under the microscope to observe, finding that the iPhone baseband power IC, NFC IC, iPhone big audio IC and iPhone display power IC all have traces of water.  Attach iPhone motherboard to the PCB holder fixture , and then use PCB cleaner to clean the iPhone motherboard. Connect iPhone motherboard to the DC power supply again to observe the current, now the    now the current turns to 80mA, after triggering, the current is stuck in 300mA. At the same time, we found the iPhone display power IC was repaired before, and the corner of iPhone display power IC was damaged. Remove the iPhone display power IC, re-connect to DC power supply, the iPhone motherboard is no longer leaking. Trig...

Solved: iPhone 7 WIFI and compass function unavailable

Last week, we received an iPhone 7 need to repair, the problem is that the iPhone 7 WIFI icon won't turn on. After testing, we found the iPhone WIFI and compass are not working. We need to solve it.  Disassemble the iPhone 7, measure the iPhone motherboard by DC power supply , the current is more than 100mA, it's abnormal.  Because the iPhone WIFI function is not working, so we need to check iPhone WIFI first. Remove the iPhone motherboard, and then observe it with microscope, we found the there is corrosion area next the iPhone WIFI IC.  Clean up the iPhone WIFI IC , and then remove the filter capacitor, the current tested is still more than 100mA. Keep checking, we found there is a small capacitor under the compass, and  a pin is missing. Measure it with digital multimeter , the data is abnormal.  Remove the capacitor directly, measure is again, now the data tested is normal. Assemble the iPhone, enter the IOS, the iPhone WIFI ...

Why iPhone 7P No Sound And Won’t Charge? – Fixed!

A customer sent us an iPhone 7 Plus to repair, the problem is that this iPhone 7P handset no sound, iPhone won't charge and iPhone camera won't take photos.  Why is that? The iPhone 7P was damaged from the dropped, so we suspect the iPhone motherboard is damaged. Now, we need to fix it.  First, we need to fix the iPhone charge problem.  Plug the iPhone lightning cable, we confirm the iPhone 7P is not charging. Connect iPhone 7P to the computer, the computer also can't identified the device. Now, we confirmed that iPhone 7P charge problem is caused by iPhone USB charge IC . Remove the iPhone USB charge IC from the iPhone motherboard, use digital multimeter  to measure the grounding resistance value of the solder point on the solder pad, we found the resistance value of the C3 is infinitely large, and this signal point is connected to the main audio IC via resistor R3104. There are 3 kinds of possibilities for this case: first one is the resistor...

DIY Fix iPhone X won't boot issue via repairing motherboard

The customer send us an iPhone X to repair, the fault described is that the iPhone is not turning on after dropping, and it reports error 56 after restoring. The iPhone X is connected by 2 pieces motherboard via a middle column, so the pins are easy to lose because of dropping. Now, it's possibly the pin from the NFC chip to the iPhone CPU that was dropped off. Disassemble the iPhone X, take out the iPhone motherboard. Use QUICK 861DW  hot air rework station to separate the iPhone X motherboard, and then we saw that there are some pin was dropped off. Check iPhone schematic diagram via WUXINJI Dongle , it's surrounded by ground lines, and the 6 useful pins was dropped off. The ground lines are no need to fill, we just need to fill these 6 useful pins, we can check it under the Stereo Zoom Microscope . These all are the signal line of the NFC chip, so when we restore iPhone by iTunes, it reports unknown error 56. Next we need to plant the tin in...

Repair Guide: iPhone 6 WIFI icon won't open (grayed)

We are trying to connect WIFI network with iPhone 6, but failed, because the iPhone WIFI icon won't open, it just displays grayed.  Is it the iPhone WIFI IC problem?  Anyway, here is the repair guide for this iPhone 6 WIFI problem. Use screwdriver to remove the screws that next to the iPhone lightning port, and then put iPhone on the CPB screen separator , so we can open the iPhone display screen easily. After open the iPhone, carefully take out the iPhone motherboard. For this problem, first we can replace the iPhone WIFI IC   directly. After install the iPhone WIFI IC, turn on iPhone 6, but it stuck when it entering the Settings, so the problem isn't been solved. Next remove the iPhone WIFI IC and test several key point signals, we found the 14 pin doesn't has the resistance value. Now, we need to check iPhone CPU . There is no Bus reset signal, the normal is 1.8V, we are going to borrow it from another place, and there is a 1.8V beside it.  It's us...
