Solved: iPhone 7 WIFI and compass function unavailable


Last week, we received an iPhone 7 need to repair, the problem is that the iPhone 7 WIFI icon won't turn on. After testing, we found the iPhone WIFI and compass are not working. We need to solve it. 


Disassemble the iPhone 7, measure the iPhone motherboard by DC power supply, the current is more than 100mA, it's abnormal. 

Because the iPhone WIFI function is not working, so we need to check iPhone WIFI first. Remove the iPhone motherboard, and then observe it with microscope, we found the there is corrosion area next the iPhone WIFI IC. 

Clean up the iPhone WIFI IC, and then remove the filter capacitor, the current tested is still more than 100mA.

Keep checking, we found there is a small capacitor under the compass,and  a pin is missing. Measure it with digital multimeter, the data is abnormal. 


Remove the capacitor directly, measure is again, now the data tested is normal.

Assemble the iPhone, enter the IOS, the iPhone WIFI icon can be turned on smoothly. Open the compass to test, the compass function works properly. Test other functions, they all works normally.
