Today, we are going to tall about iPhone 8 Plus no service problem, after the iPhone 8 Plus is turned on, there is no signal, and it says no service. As we know, both software and hardware failure all can cause this problem, first we are going to fix it by software solution, if the software doesn't work, then we need to use hardware solution.
Software solution:
- Check carrier coverage area
- Update Carrier Settings
- Restart iPhone
- Update IOS
- Restore iPhone
After we tried those software solutions, the iPhone 8 Plus still no service, we need to use hardware solution.
- Disassemble the iPhone 8 Plus
Use screwdrivers to remove the screws at the bottom of the iPhone display screen, put iPhone 8 Plus on the CPB screen separator for heating, finally, we can open the iPhone 8 Plus display assembly easily.
Remove the iPhone display assembly, disconnect the iPhone battery, and then take off the iPhone motherboard.
- Measure the iPhone motherboard
After removing the iPhone motherboard, we can see that the iPhone baseband power has traces of repairing.
Why does this iPhone have to repair the baseband power supply? As we know, iPhone 8 generation usually has no baseband problems. Anyway, now we need to use digital multimeter to measure the grounding resistance value for S1 to S5.
After measurement, the grounding resistance values of S1 to S5 are normal. Now we suspect that the chip wasn't welded or the chip was damaged.
- Replace the iPhone baseband power IC
Attach the iPhone motherboard to the PCB holder fixture, use QUICK 861DW hot air rework station to heat the iPhone baseband power IC, and then use tweezers to remove the iPhone baseband power IC.
Cleaning the solder pad, apply some solder paste to the solder pad, and then soldering the the new iPhone baseband power IC to the iPhone motherboard. Now measure it again, the data tested are normal.
Finally, assemble the iPhone, and turn it on, the iPhone 8P is turned on properly, and the service back to normal. Test other functions, they all works properly.
