iPhone Face ID Not working With JC programming Tools

iPhone Face ID fix is quite difficult since it includes 3 encrypted parts: flood illuminator, infrared camera, and dot projector. The dot projector faulty is the most commonplace among the 3 parts.

These encrypted parts cannot be repaired by simply replacing them because of the data inside. We must use a special tool, that is, the reprogrammer to transfer the data, then replace the parts.

Dot Projector Reprogrammer

There are mainly two kinds of reprogrammer in the market now: the I2C dot projector reprogrammer and the JC dot projector reprogrammer.

By comparison, the I2C dot projector reprogrammer is the better one. For one part, its operation is much more convenient than the JC reprogrammer since it does not need to be connected to a computer while JC does. For another, its compatibility is better than JC, for the I2C reprogrammer supports both I2C dot projector flex and JC dot projector flex, while JC reprogrammer only supports JC flex.

In a word, we strongly recommend you choose the I2C dot projector reprogrammer for Face ID faulty repair.

Here we share how to use the reprogrammer to fix the dot projector faulty with an iPhone X.

Faulty Checking

First of all, we need to check the dot projector. What faulty is it? It is very easy, just connect the dot projector to the I2C reprogrammer and click “Test”.  from vipfixphone.com

After a few seconds, the result comes out, the iPhone X dot projector has been fusing.

Now let’s fix it.

Data Transfer

First of all, we need to transfer the original dot projector data to a new flex cable. Here we use an I2C dot projector flex. Then do the following steps:

  • Connect the original dot projector flex to the I2C reprogrammer.
  • Read data.
  • Disconnect the flex.
  • Connect I2C dot projector flex to I2C reprogrammer.
  • Click write.
  • After a while, the data has been written in.
Jump Wire On MOSFET

The second step is to jump wire on MOSFET inside dot projector, do the followings:

  • Set temperature to 210℃, wind power 30, and heat up the front camera flex cable with heat insulation glue to solidify it.
  • Take down the dot projector flex cable. This is risky, and do it slowly and carefully, or the flex cable might be damaged.
  • Heat up the magnet ring on the flex cable and take it down
  • Then remove the encrypted chip beside the MOSFET

  • There are three pins on the MOSFET and we need to jump a wire from one pin to another. First, apply solder flux on the MOSFET, jump silver wire on one pin, then weld the silver wire on another pin.

  • Apply solder flux on the encrypted chip, and install it back. Then heat it up for a while.
Dot Projector Replacement

The last step is to weld the dot projector on the new flex cable. First of all, apply tin on the I2C dot projector flex-X, heat it up for a while. Then weld the magnet ring on it and heat it up. Lastly, place the dot projector flex on the front camera flex.

Please note: when placing the dot flex on the front camera flex, the position should be accurate, or the “move iPhone a little lower” message will show up.

Hereto the repair has finished. We install the phone, power on, and set up Face ID. Without a doubt, the Face ID works perfectly.
