Solved: iPhone 6S Plus compass unable to use

We got the problem for iPhone 6S Plus, the iPhone 6S Plus compass unable to use, moreover, the iPhone display screen cannot be  normally switched over, we need to solve it.


Put iPhone on the WL Aluminum Alloy Pad, disassemble the iPhone by phone opening tools, and then remove the iPhone motherboard.

Because the iPhone compass function is abnormal and the the screen flip can not be used, this kind of fault is generally caused by damaged gyroscope chip or the chips on the connected SPI bus. As shown in picture 15-10-1. If the iPhone 6s Plus screen flip is abnormal, it will affect the function of the compass.

So, now we replace the gyroscope chip first, and then test it again, the problem still exists. 

Remove the iPhone motherboard, and observe it under the Phone Repair 7-45X Trinocular Stereo Microscope, we found that there is corrosion trace around the iPhone 6s Plus compass chip. Directly remove the iPhone compass IC, finding  a spot is oxidized on solder pad.

Re-weld the tin on solder pad, and then re-install the iPhone compass IC, still not working. Now we decided replace the whole new iPhone compass IC, after finish that, test the iPhone compass function, it works properly now.

Continue to test iPhone display screen flip function, it also works normally. Until now, the iPhone 6S Plus problems has been solved!
