Repair guide: iPhone 6 Plus not charging and reports error -1


We charge iPhone 6 Plus as usual, but it doesn't response,  the iPhone 6 Plus is not charging and it reports iTunes error -1. Here is the repair guide!

Reflash the iPhone 6P by iTunes, it still reports unknown error -1, as we know, iTunes error -1 usually is caused by baseband circuit or baseband chip. 

Disassemble the iPhone, remove the iPhone motherboard and observe it under the Trinocular Stereo Microscope, the traces of well water corrosion are found in the iPhone charging IC and baseband power supply.


Cleaning the motherboard, and then replace the iPhone charge IC and  baseband power supply.

Reflash the iPhone by iTunes, the unknown error -1 doesn't appear. Charge the iPhone, it can not be charged after entering the system, after plugging in the data cable, it prompts does not support this accessories.

According to past repair experience, this fault is caused by the lack of power supply condition of USB chip.

While testing USB operating conditions we found that PP_TRISTAR_PIN power supply has no voltage on the Fluke digital multimeter, this power supply is converted from Q1701, after removing the Q1701 we found that the pad was seriously corroded, so we directly use jumper wire to short connect Q1701 2 pin and 3 pin.


Measure the iPhone again, the data tested is normal. Install the iPhone and charge it again, now everything goes well.
